Kasauli, Himachal, India is ruled from the Army, so to say

The calm and peaceful atmosphere of Kasauli belies any sense
of history. Yet this area was in the thick of the westward Gurkha expansion

regional chieftains, in 1814. A while later the Governor-General, Lord Amherst,
made a decision to develop Shimla Hills as a summer gateway for the British

Letitia Lawrence, at a quiet location below Kasauli. Her grief stricken
parents, Henry and Honoria Lawrence, then made a decision to build a cottage in
Kasauli from where they could see their daughter's grave(Sunny Side). From this
melancholy beginning arose the hill station of Kasauli which retains its
somewhat mournful silence. Kasauli is a small city with a permanent population.
Of about 5000 individuals, but it's a history dating some 150 decades, with
it's own folklore and even a haunted house on Khetarpal Marg. A destroy with

that about a dark night after 8.00 pm that the ghost's footsteps will accompany

feet more than Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh. Truth: Shimla has been

jungles.
There is not any fuel station in Kasauli, nearest one is
located 12 km away, so you has to come to Kasauli with half tank full of fuel.
Heavy duty automobile such as Safari, Scorpio, Jeep etc. is
recommended.
If opting for a trek, maintain along a water bottle, a
towel, a haversack, first aid and a sharp edged tool.
Go for a trek only after confirming from good regional
sources, even if the chosen trek is safe.
Don't create a bonfire in jungle place unless supported by
locals and/or permission taken from SSO office or Cantonment Board, Kasauli.
Dispensaries are available, but one must carry very own
basic first aid.
Sun-screen lotion is recommended if forthcoming in summers,
and long time is predicted to be spent out in sunlight.
